Artwork can, and should, be used to create a dialogue relevant to a specific community of viewers--artists must think of themselves as potential agents of social change. Art has the ability to affect specific, positive changes in a community--limited only by the awareness and the intentions of the artist.

I was never satisfied with the images I found in the clouds--I knew that other children saw more. Now I find myself searching for faces in the faded, faux-marble patterns of my plastic tub-surround and random textures of flocked wallpaper. Clouds are merely atmospheric collections of water and ice particles, but tub-surrounds and flocked wallpaper have been designed and manufactured to meet precise specifications. This process suggests the possibility that someone controls the images disguised within the veins.
